The Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney is ranked first in Australia and ninth in the world in the latest QS World University Rankings by subject (2016).
Teaching in the faculty is research driven, to ensure that our students learn about the latest developments and advances in evidence-based practice, veterinary medical research, animal behaviour, animal welfare science and veterinary public health.
Research and teaching occur within a ‘one health’ framework, ensuring that they are relevant to animal, human and ecosystem health at local, national and global levels.
Our passionate and internationally recognised staff include some of the world’s best veterinary and animal science researchers. The quality of our research programs is recognised by the federal government’s Australian Research Council, which awarded us the top score of ‘five out of five’ for veterinary sciences research in the latest Excellence in Research for Australia ratings.
The Faculty runs teaching hospitals in Sydney and Camden, as well as using a network of teaching and research locations throughout the Sydney area and beyond.
