Bachelor of Veterinary Science (2009)

Founder & Owner of My Pet Mobile Vet

Raised on the outskirts of the Florida Everglades I always had a passion for animal conservation. My lifelong goal to become a veterinarian led me on the journey of a lifetime, to Massey University vet school in New Zealand.

Massey was an easy choice for me because it is one of the few veterinary programs located outside of the USA that is accredited by the AVMA. Along with their outstanding reputation worldwide, the appeal of studying overseas in New Zealand was too hard for me to pass up.

My experience at Massey was truly an unforgettable one.  I spent the next 5 years making the best possible friends and memories abroad. I found vet school to be extremely supportive and there was a strong camaraderie amongst vet students.  I felt that the professors truly wanted us all to succeed and they would go above and beyond to help us develop our skills. It’s a great environment to learn and excel.

Due to Massey’s great reputation around the world, I had amazing opportunities during and after my study.  During my final year, I was fortunate enough to spend six weeks at some of the top veterinary programs in the USA, completing multiple externships at UC Davis and the University of Pennsylvania.

The one thing that makes Massey stand out is that they have a very well rounded program, incorporating both large and small animal medicine equally.  This gives the new graduate a really strong base to go out into general practice, and makes every Massey graduate an asset to their colleagues.

After graduation I started my own concierge house call practice (www.mypetmobilevet.com), providing top-quality veterinary care to pets around Los Angeles. My business recently won the award for the best Small Business in Innovation for the city of Beverly Hills, which was an amazing feat for us. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my training at Massey and I am very proud of it.

I’m always on the look out for Massey graduates to join my practice, especially those interested in companion animal health and dentistry, because I know Massey graduates are among the best in the world.
